For us, Paris is a city of sharp contrasts. Easily romanticized, it is a place that little girls dream of visiting. Where dazzling lights dance off of perfect rooftops and wine flows as is it were a river. It is also however home to historical revolt and revolution. A city that at one time was almost reduced to rubble. These contrasts and more are what make Paris so special.
When you find yourself lost in a labyrinth of crisscrossing streets, remember that in just a few steps you are likely to stumble upon something beautiful. Today’s Paris is wrought with beauty. Beauty that is the result of historical blood shed and beauty that is the result of modern care and attention. Down every cobblestone street the past and present collide. Parisians live and work in buildings from the days of Victor Hugo and Monday’s commute might take you past a 13th century cathedral.
