If you read our last blog post, you know that Kevin and I believe strongly in the importance of travelling as a couple.  What we forgot to mention is that beyond all of the learning, travel also has the ability to make you steadfast and brave.  These qualities give you the strength to seek out the uncommon adventures.

It was this steadfastness that allowed us to first consider Africa for our honeymoon.  A place that at first seemed well beyond our reach, but as time went on our wisp of an idea began to form into a concrete possibility.  Before we knew it an entire continent had been narrowed down to two countries, three weeks and a once in a lifetime itinerary.  It was now up to our bravery to help us take the leap.

For as long as we can both remember Africa has stood at the top of our wildest dreams; a romanticised continent of exotic animals and rich cultures.  A place that we were first introduced to by Simba and his friends, that our heart ached for in Hotel Rwanda, and that we fell in love with through Nelson Mandela. What we would come to learn however is that Africa is all of this and so much more.

From peninsula drives and wine touring, to safaris and private beach resorts, Africa offers honeymooners the ultimate in memorable experiences.  To do justice to this amazing continent the upcoming collection of posts will feature how and why Africa stole our hearts.  Starting us off, here are 20 images from across South Africa and Mozambique to inspire you to keep reading.
